Going cardboard!<\/h1>\n

Some may still have doubts about the reliability cardboard can have. In the following lines, we\u2019ll try to put in words our reasons for going cardboard at all. Our humble manifesto, there it goes:<\/p>\n

#01_GLOBAL DESIGN \/ LOCAL PRODUCTION<\/h3>\n

Cardboard industry is already a globalized one and operates with similar quality standards (thickness, material composition\u2026) worldwide. This gives us freedom of working with different vendors and producers across the world.<\/p>\n

#02_COST-EFFICIENT<\/h3>\n

Compared to other materials, such as wood, plastic or metal, in what comes to costs, cardboard is hard to beat!
\nFor it is very light and easy to shape, it allows a cost-time efficient production and easy transport and assembly. In addition, cardboard can be rapidly stored on plain boards, saving space and costs. Last but not least, as a recycled and recyclable material, cardboard will keep ensuring low costs in the future.<\/p>\n

#03_HACKABLE<\/h3>\n

Cardboard is quick and easy to build with. It allows faster reaction times and more possibilities of design and modification. Also, new technologies in the production industry, such as laser cut and die-cut, make the whole process very nimble, allowing to validate designs within minutes. Furthermore, cardboard can be printed, easily cut with a knife, and\u00a0customized<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with crayons, tape or vinyl. All these features make cardboard an extremely versatile material where endless possibilities can come from it!<\/p>\n

#04_RESISTANT<\/h3>\n

Contrary to what many people think, cardboard is a\u00a0very sturdy material<\/a><\/strong>. Most of our furniture is developed out of corrugated cardboard, a material consisting of a fluted corrugated sheet and one or two flat liner boards, which provides with incredible strength our designs. Just to give you a better idea: our furniture can support up to 400 pounds!<\/p>\n

#05_GREEN<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s 100% reused and recycled!
\nAlthough producing cardboard does involve the cutting down of trees, it involves a much more eco-friendly process than the manufacture of other materials. Here, some interesting data:
\n\u2013\u00a093% of corrugated cardboard containers use materials supplied by Sustainable Forestry Initiative\u00a0(SFI)<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>program participants, who are dedicated to sustainable forestry.
\n\u2013\u00a0Nearly 60% of the energy used by the U.S. paper industry is from renewable biofuels.
\n\u2013\u00a080.7% of corrugated material produced in 2008 was recovered for recycling, and nearly all was recycled into new products.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
