Diego Ávila Mula
Senior designer
Born and raised in “La Cañá” Marines (Lorca), between the mountains and herding animals, I was brought up with a philosophy of figuring things out for yourself making the most of what you have around you, and always with respect. My journey has been shaped by honest, if precarious, jobs and some questionable academic choices, all of which I’m deeply proud of. They’ve taught me to truly appreciate how lucky I am to have made it here. After many twists and turns, the contrast between my work as a craftsman and my academic detour yes, I have a degree in Criminology led me to one of the best decisions of my life: to leave crime behind (in theory) and develop tools to fuel my creative side by studying Product Design at the School of Design in the Region of Murcia. Eventually, I landed an internship at Cartonlab yet another great decision. And like in a mutual love story, they offered me the chance to join this team of professionals and genuinely good people who make me wake up every day wondering, “How did I end up here?”
