The IUCN Congress is held every 4 years and it is said to be the most important gathering in the world discussing the future of our planet. Organizations, policymakers, corporations, nonprofits, private individuals answer to the IUCN call and came together for an important discussion about sustainability. This year the organization chose Hawaii for hosting the event, President Obama opened up the week by announcing the creation of A 583,000-square-mile “no-take” zone; quadrupling the size of a national marine monument off northwestern Hawaii.
The Federation of Russia in cooperation with the agency Variobrands (Russian based) chose Cartonlab to design, produce, and install a 100% sustainable cardboard President. The area was used to spread the word about what this country is doing for nature and their vast natural reserves. The Pavilion was designed to hold a conference zone and show every day different images and pictures about Russian geography. We created a 6-foot tall BEAR in cardboard who attracted a lot of traffic and social media posting.
